I graduated with my PhD in the Soil and Water Sciences Department at the University of Florida in 2018. There, I was on a Graduate Student Fellowship and worked in the Wetland Biogeochemistry Laboratory advised by Dr. Patrick Inglett. I am currently a "free-agent" scientist and primarily work as a consultant with United Faculty of Florida at Florida International University (UFF-FIU).
My research interests center around aquatic and wetland biogeochemistry. In simpler terms, I am broadly interested in how elements, nutrients, and energy flow within and between ecosystems. My dissertation research focused on nitrogen cycling, water quality, and the causes and impacts of harmful algal blooms (HABs) in coastal ecosystems. I am also interested in science policy and science communication. I was part of the inaugural 2018 cohort of American Geophysical Union's Voices for Science and more recently a scientific advisor for Thriving Earth Exchange project with Hallandale Beach, Florida. |
